Daily Itinerary for Bhutan Spiritual Tour (12 Days)

  • Day 1: Arrive at Paro (2,250m)

    Arrive at Paro International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest temples, and explore Paro Rinpung Dzong. Enjoy a serene evening walk along the Paro River. Overnight stay in Paro.

  • Day 2: Paro – Taktsang Hike – Thimphu (2,320m)

    Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest), perched on a cliffside at 3,120m. This iconic monastery offers breathtaking views and spiritual serenity. After the hike, drive to Thimphu. Visit Memorial Chorten and Buddha Dordenma statue. Explore Tashichho Dzong in the evening. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

  • Day 3: Thimphu

    Visit the National Institute for Zorig Chusum, National Library, and Folk Heritage Museum. Explore Changangkha Lhakhang and enjoy a tranquil walk around the monastery. Discover traditional Bhutanese art and medicine. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

  • Day 4: Thimphu – Punakha (1,350m)

    Drive to Punakha, stopping at Dochula Pass (3,150m) for panoramic views and a visit to the 108 Druk Wangyal Khangzang Chortens. In Punakha, visit Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lhakhang, the Temple of Fertility. Stroll around Punakha town in the evening. Overnight stay in Punakha.

  • Day 5: Punakha – Phobjikha Valley (3,000m)

    Drive to Phobjikha Valley, a glacial valley and winter home to the black-necked cranes. Visit Gangtey Monastery and enjoy the serene beauty of the valley. Overnight stay in Phobjikha.

  • Day 6: Phobjikha Valley – Bumthang (2,600m)

    Travel to Bumthang, the spiritual heartland of Bhutan. Explore Jakar Dzong, Jambay Lhakhang, and Kurjey Lhakhang. Overnight stay in Bumthang.

  • Day 7: Bumthang

    Visit Tamshing Lhakhang and Burning Lake (Mebar Tsho), significant pilgrimage sites. Explore the Swiss Farm and the Red Panda Brewery in the evening. Overnight stay in Bumthang.

  • Day 8: Bumthang – Mongar (1,600m)

    Drive to Mongar, experiencing scenic changes. Visit Mongar Dzong and explore the local market. Overnight stay in Mongar.

  • Day 9: Mongar – Lhuentse (1,700m)

    Travel to Lhuentse, known for its remote landscapes. Visit Lhuentse Dzong and the Kurtoe region. Overnight stay in Lhuentse.

  • Day 10: Lhuentse – Trashigang (1,155m)

    Drive to Trashigang, Bhutan’s largest district. Explore Trashigang Dzong and the local market. Overnight stay in Trashigang.

  • Day 11: Trashigang – Samdrup Jongkhar (230m)

    Travel to Samdrup Jongkhar, the gateway to eastern Bhutan. Visit Zangtho Pelri Lhakhang and experience the local market. Overnight stay in Samdrup Jongkhar.

  • Day 12: Samdrup Jongkhar – Guwahati

    Drive to Guwahati in Assam, India, for your onward journey.
