Along the way, visit traditional villages and ancient dzongs, and enjoy a rest day at the scenic Jangothang base camp. Daily Itinerary for Jomolhari Trek (11 Days)

Day 1: Arrival in Paro
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel. After settling in, visit Rinpung Dzong, a historic fortress and monastery, and the National Museum to learn about Bhutanese culture and history. Spend the evening relaxing and preparing for your upcoming trek.

Day 2: Paro – Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery – Drive to Sharna Zampa
After breakfast, embark on a hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest (Taktsang) Monastery, perched on a cliffside 900 meters above the Paro Valley. The trek offers stunning views and a rewarding experience upon reaching the monastery. Enjoy a picnic lunch with a panoramic view. Descend and drive to Sharna Zampa in the evening, the starting point of your trek. Set up camp and rest for the night.

Day 3: Sharna Zampa to Thangthangkha
Begin your trek from Sharna Zampa, hiking through lush forests and beautiful meadows. Gradually ascend to your campsite near Thangthangkha (3,610m). The trek takes approximately 5-6 hours. Set up camp and enjoy the serene surroundings.

Day 4: Thangthangkha to Jangothang
Continue your trek, passing through stunning landscapes and gaining altitude as you make your way to Jangothang. The trek takes around 6-7 hours. Reach the campsite at Jangothang (4,080m), which offers breathtaking views of Mount Jomolhari. Spend the evening acclimatizing and enjoying the majestic scenery.

Day 5: Rest Day at Jangothang
Take a rest day to acclimate to the altitude. Explore the surrounding area, including a hike to Tshophu Lake. Relax at the campsite and take in the panoramic views of Mount Jomolhari and the surrounding peaks.

Day 6: Jangothang to Lingshi
Trek to Lingshi, crossing the Nyile La Pass (4,870m), which offers spectacular views of the Himalayas. The trek takes approximately 6-7 hours. Descend to Lingshi and set up camp near the Lingshi Dzong (4,010m). Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the stunning views.

Day 7: Lingshi to Shodu
Begin your trek to Shodu, ascending to the Yalila Pass (4,930m). After enjoying the panoramic views, descend through rhododendron forests to reach your campsite near Shodu (4,100m). The trek takes around 7-8 hours.

Day 8: Shodu to Barshong
Follow the Thimphu River as you trek to Barshong, passing through forests and pastures. The trek takes approximately 5-6 hours. Set up camp near the ruins of Barshong Dzong (3,600m) and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

Day 9: Barshong to Thimphu
After breakfast, trek for 3-4 hours from Barshong to a nearby road where your transport will be waiting. Drive directly to Thimphu. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax. Spend the evening exploring Thimphu town or simply resting after your trek.

Day 10: Thimphu Sightseeing and Drive to Paro
Start the day with sightseeing in Thimphu. Visit the National Memorial Chorten, Folk Heritage Museum, and Handicrafts Emporium. In the afternoon, drive back to Paro. Check into your hotel and enjoy a restful evening.

Day 11: Departure from Paro
Enjoy your final breakfast in Bhutan before being transferred to Paro International Airport for your departure. Reflect on the unforgettable memories made during your Jomolhari Trek as you bid farewell to the Land of the Thunder Dragon.
