Royal Highland Festival Itinerary (8 Days)

Day 1: Arrival in Paro
Arrive at Paro International Airport, where you will be greeted by your guide. After a brief rest, visit Paro Rinpung Dzong, a historic fortress-monastery, and Ta Dzong, now the National Museum. In the evening, explore Paro town. Overnight in Paro.

Day 2: Paro to Thimphu
Drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital, taking approximately 1.5 hours. Visit Tashichho Dzong, the National Memorial Chorten, and the giant Buddha Dordenma statue. Spend the evening exploring Thimphu’s markets and crafts bazaar. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 3: Thimphu to Punakha
Depart for Punakha, driving over the scenic Dochula Pass with its 108 chortens and stunning Himalayan views. Visit Punakha Dzong, an architectural marvel at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Later, explore the nearby Punakha Suspension Bridge. Overnight in Punakha.
